Seeking Conservation & Stewardship Interns – Summer 2026

Job Duties:

  • Assist Land Trust staff to accomplish a variety of land stewardship actions, including but not limited to habitat restoration, preserve maintenance, field research, and monitoring. This work may include:
    • preserve and easement monitoring using Landscape;
    • field data collection on Land Trust preserves using ArcGIS Field Maps;
    • field work including but not limited to trail maintenance, brush clearing, and invasive removal; collecting and analyzing wildlife camera footage and/or acoustic recordings.
  • Represent the Bainbridge Island Land Trust to visitors, supporters, and community members.
  • Assist with event execution and engage with community members at Land Trust education, outreach, and fundraising events.
  • Assist with collection and development of communications and education materials, such as photos and videos for use in print, online, and social media.
  • Design and conduct a semi-independent project in collaboration with Land Trust staff and commitee members.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a college student, recent college graduate, or have comparable experience.
  • Must have access to transportation to and from the Bainbridge Island Land Trust offi
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, for the duration of the internship.
  • Education, background, or interest in the following or related fields: field biology, ecology, forestry, environmental studies, environmental science, geographical information systems (GIS), environmental communications, and/or natural resource management.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and cooperatively with the public, supporters, landowners, and volunteers.
