2023 Annual Meeting Open House at Rockaway Bluff Preserve

Registration is now full for our Open House at Rockaway Bluff Preserve. If you registered for a tour, we look forward to seeing you out on the trail! If you missed the registration window, please contact our office to schedule a private tour of the Preserve.

Registered Participants please park at Pritchard Park and take our shuttle to the tour site. There is no parking at Rockaway Bluff Preserve.

Tours will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and will include a 0.5 mile walk through Rockaway Bluff Preserve. Land Trust staff and supporters will be on site to guide you around the property and share information about the history and ecology of this special place. The trail is flat but it may be muddy so plan for appropriate footwear, and as always, be sure to dress for the weather. Pastries and drinks will be available for your enjoyment. Please bring your own mug to enjoy warm beverages.

In 2021, the Land Trust acquired a 35-acre parcel of mature intact forest at Rockaway Bluff. The following year, the Land Trust had the opportunity to add an additional 10-acres including a wetland. The 45-acre Preserve provides habitat for over 80 bird species and is a critical part of the Land Trust’s efforts to build a network of climate resilient lands on Bainbridge Island.

The Preserve is not yet open to the public so this is a unique opportunity to visit and learn about the property.
