Join us for the First Wednesday Work Party at the Cougar Creek Preserve on August 4th, 2021!

The August First Wednesday Work Party (August 4th) will take place at the Cougar Creek Preserve.

We will be focusing on removing Himalayan blackberry that has invaded an active restoration site and doing some preliminary invasive removal for future planting sites (stay tuned for another work party to install new plants!). Tools, refreshments, and treats will be provided, so come with a pair of work gloves and be prepared to have a fun time of conversation, invasive species control, and enjoy the Cougar Creek Preserve.

If you haven’t been out to the Cougar Creek Preserve, the property is located between Blakely Ave and Old Mill Rd; with a trail passing by a large seasonal pond and is great for wildlife viewing and bird watching! The Preserve is just north of IslandWood and Blakely Elementary. A neighbor has generously allowed us to park on their property, so RSVP for parking instructions.

We have two time slots, so let us know which time slot you are interested in:

· 9am-11am

· 4pm-6pm

If you are interested in attending, please email Andrew Fraser ([email protected]) or sign up on the Bainbridge Island Land Trust webpage – https://www.bi-landtrust.org/work-parties/
