Please be sure to join us on July 18th, at 5:00 pm, as we premiere a program on this webpage that features an incredibly exciting announcement on the Land Trust’s next preserve!

The Preservation Partners Party, newly named the Summer Celebration, is now in its twelfth year – and this year, due to COVID-19, we’re going virtual. This fundraiser is indispensable in keeping the Bainbridge Island Land Trust strong. Your support provides us with the means to fulfill our mission and maintain our skilled staff, office, and educational programs; bolsters stewardship of the 48 properties on which we hold conservation easements and on properties we own; and supports our Teen Conservation Crew. Most importantly, funds raised from now up until July 18th give the Land Trust the confidence and flexibility to act quickly on upcoming land acquisition opportunities. Funds raised from the Summer Celebration can furnish initial payments for parcels, while the Land Trust launches the necessary capital campaigns to preserve natural areas — for everyone, forever.

The Bainbridge Island Land Trust works to preserve and steward the diverse natural environment of Bainbridge Island for the benefit of all.

Q: Is this a new fundraiser for the Land Trust?

A: The Land Trust hosts an in-person fundraiser each summer, titled the Preservation Partners Party. Due to COVID-19, the event has moved to a virtual platform and has been renamed the ‘Preservation Partners Summer Celebration.’

Q: Is this a fundraiser for the Stand for the Land Campaign?

A: While the Preservation Partners Summer Celebration is not a fundraiser for our Stand for the Land campaign, it is indispensable in keeping the Bainbridge Island Land Trust strong. Your support provides us with the means to fulfill our mission and maintain our skilled staff, office, and educational programs; bolsters stewardship of the properties on which we hold conservation easements and on properties we own; and supports our Teen Conservation Crew. Most importantly, funds raised through this initiative give the Land Trust the confidence and flexibility to act quickly on upcoming land acquisition opportunities.

Q: How much is the Land Trust hoping to raise?

A: The Land Trust is hoping to raise at least $300,000. It is critical that we raise the majority of these funds prior to the 18th.

Q: What’s so special about July 18th?

A: On July 18th, at 5:00 pm, on this webpage, we will be premiering a special program that will start at 5:00 pm sharp. This program features an announcement on the Land Trust’s next preserve, so you won’t want to miss it!

Q: What will the program be about?

A: The Preservation Partners Summer Celebration will include a similar format to previous Preservation Partner Parties. We will be joined by emcees Kevin & Martha of EnJoy Productions who will guide us through a program celebrating conservation successes over the last year and a peek into what is to come over the next year through inspiring film, words, and messages from members of our organization.

Q: Will there be an auction?

A: The majority of our auction items are experiential, so due to the constraints as a result of COVID-19, we have made the decision not to host an auction for this year’s Summer Celebration in order to allocate additional resources to the newly unveiled virtual format.

Q: Is my contribution tax-deductible?

A: Contributions to the Bainbridge Island Land Trust, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code, are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. Tax I.D. #91-1439338.

Q: What is the length of the online program?

A: The program is planned to run approximately 35-40 minutes in length.

Q: What if I can't watch on July 18th? Will the program be available after that date?

A: Yes! The program will remain available on this site after the program has “gone live” on July 18th at 5:00 pm.
